Hello people,
I have a x1900 Crossfire rig. The problem is, if I try to install anything newer than CAT 6.7, I'll get a blank screen after reboot. Everything works perfectly (I hear WinXP intro sound, MSN sounds), just the screen is blank. I rebooted with VGA Safe boot, and when I disabled the second card (not the CF edition one) and rebooted, it worked perfectly. Then I re-enabled it and rebooted, it again didn't work. I uninstalled CCC and rebooted, and it worked. So I've narrowed the problem down considerably : After 6.7, CCC has problems with the second card being present. I don't like CCC anyway but I need to have it to enable Crossfire. So, what do you think ? Have you heard of anything like this before ? Thanks ! |

Yeah, sure. Don't know how I missed that
![]() RAM: 2GB TWINMOS DDR400. MB: Asus A8R32 - MVP Deluxe. CPU: AMD Athlon x2 4200+. OS: WinXP Professional, SP 2. I realized that unlike I said in my first post, uninstalling CCC doesn't work. If the new drivers are installed and both cards are enabled via the Hardware tab in Control Panel, the screen will go black just when it should display the desktop. |

Hmmm....you say that the rest of what goes on you can hear? I wonder if somehow the system -- with the newer drivers -- is defaulting to a different output to the monitor?
Have you tried disconnecting and then connecting to the other outlets? It just seems that the signal on that one connection is now 'dead' but may have shifted to another by default. Worth checking out anyway. |

First,
The Mastercard should be in the top slot and the slave in the bottom second, The dongle should be connected to the DVI port on the slave that ISN'T DIRECTLY below it. 3rd If that is correct, check in the bios and make sure the VIDEO is set to PCI-EX1~>PCI-EX2 mode and lastly if that is all already set like that, manually disconnect the monitor from the dongle, and connect it to each dvi port while the system is on, hopefully ONE will show a connection and get you a display to work with. From there, try and manually enable Crossfire and trial and error the connections again.
