TV Problem : In black and white only
I just installed the new Omega driver and I have a problem. When I to watch my cpu on my TV, it's coming in black and white only... Anyone knows why?
Also, if I use ATI tray tools to activate my TV, my pc screen resolution goes back to 1024x768 every time I activate the TV. But if I activate the TV through the advanced settings of my desktop, in displays, my pc screen resolution stays intact.. but it's still in black and white though. I have a Radeon 9600 and my TV is an old Emerson I think. Thanks alot guys! I've been searching and trying stuff all afternoon for this! |

First of all I guess we can assume that that Old Emerson IS a COLOR TV, right? J/K What cable connection are you using? Does this happen with the Official ATI drivers and CCC? (Sorry, but I have to leave for work in 3 minutes and won't be able to respond further until later.) |

My TV is a color TV don't worry hehe
![]() I'm using a s-video cable. I don't know if it happens with the offical ATi drivers and CCC because when I tried them, my CCC didn't want to work... I wasn't even able to open it so I switched to Omega. |

You need to install NET Framework 2.0 for CCC to work. Be sure to use Windows Update to get your system current.

I already have installed NET framework 2.0 for CCC to work and it didn't work. But now I don't really care about CCC since I have the omega driver and ATI tray tools working fine. I just need to know why it's coming out in B&W on my TV screen.

I've used TV Out for many years using many different ATI cards and the official drivers as well as the Omega's and NGO's and the only real problem I encountered recently was getting a black screen. Then I discovered that was due to simply overlooking an adjustment in my settings that caused the screen to be black. Moving that little slider took care of the problem. But, I don't ever recall not getting color output once I did get a screen to appear. |

I tried the last official drivers from ATI but the CCC didn't want to open. I had this error when trying to open CCC :
Could not load file or asembly 'CLI.Implementation, Version=2.0.2637.38492, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=90ba9c70f846762e' or one of its dependencies. Le fichier spécifié est introuvable. Any idea where I could find previous versions or why I had this error? |

The output in Black and White and not being color could be due to a PAL/NTSC video mismatch. Are you using a computer designed to output PAL video to an NTSC television, or vice versa? That could cause the exact problem you are seeing.
Your laptop might have been made for use in the US or Japan, for instance, and your TV might be made for use in England.

How can I know if my TV or laptop is made for use in ntsc or pal? By default in ATi tray tools, the settings were in pal and the image was all messed up on my tv.. but when i put it at ntsc, the image was all cleared.. but in Black and white though.. .but not messy at least!
btw, I already use that s-video cable few years ago and it was working fine with the same TV (the pc was different though). Last edited by BigM1ke; May 1, 2007 at 01:38 AM. |

I had the same problem with my 9800 Pro just last week and the solution was to connect the card directly to the TV. Unfortunately, it would seem that you can't have an intermediate device of any kind (VCR, input switch, etc.) between the two. Hope that does it for you.

If you're in the US, you should be using NTSC settings for output. |

There's only one Video input on my Tv and I live in Canada so I put the NTSC settings with both ati tray tools and in my display settings when I tried to watch it on my TV. I wasn't able to find any Input settings on my TV though... The remote control and the TV both don't seem to have any options that I can edit except the time and sleep mode, stuff like this.
This whole B&W thing is really weird.. I wish we'll be able to figure all of this out! |

I guess no one has a clue on how to solve this Black and white thing!
It's really weird since the same s-video cable and the same TV were working just fine but with a different cpu and video card (both were less good/older). Thx for your help! I appreciated it! |

Yes, honestly, I'm at a loss without actually seeing what's going on.
If you do come across whatever it is that fixes it, please let us know. Good luck! |

Since I can't reproduce it, without simply turning down the color, or selecting grayscale output, it's something I've never encountered. Have you tried switching between S-Video and Composite in the settings for the output signal? |

There is a very, very new ATT if you go to: www.ngohq.com and download it from the Files section/Tweakers and Overclockers. It's version 1034. Uninstall the current one, if it's older, and then install the newer one. I'll be gone for just a few short hours and will check when I get back as to the situation and your reply. Cheers! |

I am still using the latest Omega Drivers and I tried both the WDControl and ATT but none seems to solve my problem so far.
My ATT version is 1.2.6.964. I am now downloading the new version and I'll install it. I'll wait for your answer! edit : I've installed it and there's only one difference so far with the new ATT version. When I use my TV output, my cpu resolution doesn't change like it used to with my former ATT version. Last edited by BigM1ke; May 8, 2007 at 02:17 AM. |

That's already the TV format I am using! It was that one in the previous version also. At first it was some PAL setting but the image was all messed up. And with Windows Display Controls, I have the same TV format chosen (ntsc-m).
Thx anyway!
