Overclock issues Sapphire X1950 Pro

This card is pretty sweet without overclocking, so I thought, why not try overclocking. First I tried the standard ATI CCC overclocking and any amount of overclocking, even the smallest bit resulted in constant blinking. Odd I thought, so then I downloaded the Omega Drivers and tried the overclocking. Well, any attempt to overclock, even a small amount, screen goes black and computer is unresponsive.
I don't have heat issues, everything seems to be working swimmingly except for the dang overclock.

Any ideas?

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!

I'm able to overclock my X1950 Pro 256 MB (from PowerColor) by using CCC to unlock the OC'ing and then use ATT Driver Level to do the actual overclocking. First, though, I boost the fan speed manually to 100% and then test various increments with the Artifact detector to see how it's doing.

If I use the Low Level option, my own screen loses signal and I have to restart with the Reset button on the PC.

Doing this, I've been able to get some decent OC's. However, as you say, the card is pretty sweet without it. I mainly do my own OC'ing just for benchmarks.
