Installing video drivers

I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this, but I'm sure a moderater will move it if it's not.

I have just installed the Omega drivers for my Radeon 9600, after having a load of trouble with Net.Framwork and MOM.Implementation errors after downloading the latest 7.1 drivers from the AMD/ATI site (I thought I was doing the right thing).

All the errors are gone now, but everytime I boot up, my system detects new hardware/video card and wants to install drivers. I am very reluctant to let the ATI disc that belongs to my video card anywhere near my computer after the trouble I had last time. The computer is running fine, but I just have to keep cancelling the Harware Install on every boot up. Any solution please?

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!

What you are very likely being prompted for are the WDM drivers. For some reason (smaller download filesize, I believe) Omega has opted to not include these in his drivers.

So, whichever matching version of Omegadrivers you're using, you need to go to the ATI/AMD downloads and grab the appropriate WDM version drivers.

Just get those and install them and I'll bet you a cup of coffee the prompts will end after that.

Good luck!

Thank you that worked. I was extremely nervous starting up the ATI install, but I just chose the WMD ONLY install from the CUSTOM option, and Bob's your Uncle. Fixed.

I'm in Melbourne, Australia. When do you want to get together for that free coffee, Mr Straits?
