ATI 9000 driver problems

I've try to install the latest driver for Ati9000 radeon from omega drivers, the number 38.252, but windows doen't allow me.
When i execute the installation program an error window comes out saying:
"the drivers are too old for this windows version the standard vga driver is installed"

So i can't get the latest driver for my ATI and the wonderfull overclocking options... T.T

I've tried with the latest version from ATI, the 8.11s but gives me problems with the lights points in the games, the framerate down to 1 FPS when the game perfom a lighting effect...

i've forgot to say i'm using XP pro...

Any help?

Thank you!

PD:: Sorry for my poor english, i'm trying hard to learn it...

You will need to use older drivers, either an omega set based on the calalyst 6.11 or a catalyst set from earlier.

The omega 38.252 set is too new so wont work on your card.

The 9000 cards cant use any later drivers than those since support was ended.

Catayst 6.11's from ATI First,
Catalyst 6.5's 2nd if the first doesn't work...

imo the best solutions, the 6.11's work 99% of the time for me, however i have ran into the strange occurance where the 6.11's for whatever reason didn't appear to supprt the product where as the 6.5's did.

Legacy 6.11's from ATI's site are the way to go. And, the Omega 3.8.252 are actually based on Catalyst 6.5, so they should work.. but try the legacy 6.11's.

Many thanks to everybody

My widows XP doen't allow me to install the omega drivers 3.8.252, tells me like if the drivers are done for an older windows's version, so i can't get them working..

so far, i've installed the 6.11 driver from ATI so i may able to run a game. I left the ATI control panel from Omega drivers, i don't know if the tweaks works on that drivers thou..

However the card still drop the FPS down to 1 or less when any, and i mean any, lighting effect comes up.
Anything like a one lighting spot makes the card get freeze until the effect dissapear...

That's kind of weird, because the drivers that comes with the windows xp, the generic one, works well with the lightings... Although the games get freezing ramdomly and the frogs doesn't work porperly.

Is there any way to fix this problem or is just only my card?

I beg you to forgive my english again..

thanks.
