Does cat 7.8 shows promise with HD2900XT?

I've read a few posts from other forums who seem to praise the leaked version of Cat 7.8. Indicating:
-lower hit using AA
-lower hit using AAA
-better overall performance
-complete fix for fog issue with some of valve's games (although it's currently better then days past)

Anyone with a HD 2900XT seeing this performance boost? It's not clear if this is using XP and Vista or just Vista.

System Specs

Im on Vista x64 and i can say that the hit from enabling AAA is almost gone. In the deepest and most intense scenes in Oblivion i only saw a 3fps dip by going from no AAA to QualityAAA.

All my games run nicely with 12xAA/16xAF/QAAA - wich means i know disabled any ingameAA and such, and only leave the CCC set with those settings for all my games. Its really nice quality and performance settings for my HD2900
