Setup HD2600, no driver compatible

Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware..
That's the error i get when trying to install the latest hotfix of 7.9 for my (Gecube) ati 2600HD pro.
I cleaned everything with driver cleaner, uninstalled all ATI stuff, downloaded the hotfix for my Windows xp 32. but i keep ketting the damn error, even after a reboot.

Tried the normal 7.9 drivers, compatible with 2600HD pro, and windows xp32bit.
Still.. Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware

So im starting to freak out a bit,
Anyone with a solution?

Please submit a support ticket with ATI and give as much detail about the hardware...

if you can.. pull up the hardware IDS for it...
