Strange tearing at edges.

Hi.

Since last night I've started getting some strange tearing around the lower and right edge on my screen. The strangest part is that so far I've only noticed this in 3DMark05/06. I've tried 3 different games in different resolutions and they have been perfect.

This started happening after I accidentally set agp bus speed to sync with fsb speed when I overclocked so it went from 66 to 70MHz.

Is this related to that or is there some other issue causing this since it only seems to happen in 3Dmark.

Using ATI 7.9 right now btw.

I'd reset the AGP Bus speed to default. Most AGP Busses do NOT like anything over 66-67 MHz. That's why most motherboards allow the PCI and AGP Busses to be locked. PCI = 33 MHz; AGP = 66 MHz.

I did but it's still there, that's why I had to ask what might cause this. I thought it could have been some resident error so I turned my computer off for 10 minutes. After that the first section of 3dMark05 was without this, before it happened at once, but then it came in the second test segment.

It's strange that it only happens in 3DMark, I've tested both DX and OpenGL games and it's not there.

Try reinstalling the 3DMark apps.

It's a longshot but I'll try that as well.

Deselected "Alternate Pixel Center" and the problem is gone.

Strange, as far as I remember I've had that on all the time so why would it suddenly cause this effect?

Hmmm...I can't recall ever selecting that option. At least we now know what was the cause of the problem.

I may have accidently turned it on when I installed new drivers, or the driver package might have set it as default. Well, it works and it works well.
