ATI Radeon X1650 pro, Crossfire not functioning
I have a Mac Pro, and currently have 2 Saphire X1650 Pro CF ready PCIe. I don't have a master card so I need to use the software version of CF. Anyone know a driver that I can use that will fix the incompatibility?
I downloaded the Omega Driver which identifies the cards as Pros, but will still not allow crossfire. So I have a Mac Pro Running SP2, with 2 X1650 PRO 512MB. So right now I see in Windows Hardware Manager: ATI Radeon x1650 Pro ATI Radeon x1650 Pro ATI Radeon x1650 Pro Secondary ATI Radeon x1650 Pro Secondary ATI says I should see: ATI Radeon X1650 Pro CrossFire Edition ATI Radeon X1650 Pro CrossFire Edition ATI Radeon X1650 Pro CrossFire Edition Secondary ATI Radeon X1650 Pro CrossFire Edition Secondary Plus when I go into the CCC (Catalyst control Center) I do not see the Crossfire Option. I called ATI they wouldn't help me since I have a Mac but they said that it can be done, using third party drivers but they can not endorse there use. And I checked the ATI website and it appears that the Crossfire Drivers don't load until a second card is detected. So my question does anyone know where I can find these magical drivers? My google Fu is failing me big time. Any help would be much appreciated!! Thank you all! |

It's hard to know where to start when we don't have the system specs. Please post that info and we'll hope for the best.

No, it didn't need a cable back with those cards. Have you enabled Crossfire in CCC then?
What driver are you using? |

Re: ATI Radeon X1650 pro, Crossfire not functioning
there is no option to, this is the problem, i know that they can, but for some reason mine cant/wont. HIS just ignores my emails and ATI doesnt know what to do, neither does tigerdirect, whom i bought the cards from...this is making me feel like a noob.

Re: ATI Radeon X1650 pro, Crossfire not functioning
Have you tried to uninstall and completely remove drivers and then install them again, after windows booted up and installed the default windows vga drivers?
What set of drivers are you using btw? |

Re: ATI Radeon X1650 pro, Crossfire not functioning
yes, i have, i am using v8.541 for drivers, and 8.1 for CCC, ATI will only tell me that my drivers are retarded, but i know that is not the case
was there ever at any time an external DVI plug or something, because if there was, that might be the problem, or its just a coincidence that HIS, tigerdirect, and GPU-z all tell me i can use crossfire, but i really cant |

So, yes, there is a way to make Crossfire work without the Interlink that I referenced above. But, apparently, it has to be done via BIOS. Good luck! |

Re: ATI Radeon X1650 pro, Crossfire not functioning
may i suggest a HD4670 as a cheap solution that should perform quite likely more then 4 times faster then those 2 cards in crossfire?
