Another driver that won't work in my AGP card
... Guess the 7.11 won't work either... And that makes 4 months without sorting the problem...Guess i won't be playing Crysis... More wasted money just because AMD/ATI can't simply make a driver that will work with their hardware... Well... I think it's clear what colour I'm choosing when i buy my new rig by the end of the year.... |

What AGP card would anyway be powerful enough to run Crysis?

I'm running it on a X1950 Pro 512MB AGP with P4 3.0GHz CPU and 2GB RAM. I use High Textures, 8x AF (via a System.cfg command), Medium shadows, shaders, water, volumetrics, and sound, the rest Low @ 1200x900 and about 30 FPS average.
It runs pretty smooth and looks pretty good and although I do get a bit of texture flickering due to the AMD problem with Crysis, at least the Omega drivers I'm using work with AGP and they're up to date at Cat 7.10 equivalent. |

This is also supposed to increase Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance performance.

Heh, I love ATi sometimes, this "hotfix" is supposed to:
DirectX 9: Fixes random graphics corruption during game play Ok, nothing wrong with that, except for the fact that, for me, it causes them instead, oops! Ah well, back to the usual 7.10s, here's hoping the 7.11s will combine the best of both drivers.

AGP support for this driver ala D3D still sucks. Fails all the tests. This probably means the 7.11s will be the same. It's funny, I hopped on the ATI boat because of the driver support, which ironically is going to force me to jump.

Does anyone here know if the latest Omegas suffer from the same graphics problems the Cats did before this hotfix? I get a few minor texture flickers with the Omega but that's about it. I was wondering though if the rocks on the ground drawing into view right in front of you is part of the ATI driver glitches too, anyone know? Being on AGP platform still, I probably don't have the option to even try this hotfix and it looks to be large enough in file size to entirely replace any driver and control panel setup you're running. I will indeed make Pci Ex jump with my next build but I am simply holding out for a one card solution that will drive a 1920x1200 display on any game for a good 3-5 yrs at max settings. Thus I'm waiting to see what the 9800GTX will perform like and probably go next gen quad too. I read some other threads before coming back here btw, and it looks like some on Pci Ex are still having bad artifact problems even after installing ATI's Crysis hotfix. |

Still works here, remember you have to select the Crysis topic on that site to get to the driver page, it's a bit of a strange website layout.
