i need help

Hello people i've been having a severe problem with my ati radeon card.
It is a visiontek 1550 xge agp 8x card. Recently this card is failing to enable my second screen monitor. Whenever i click to enable it the tv just flickers then it just goes back to off.
However, when i click to add the tv as my primary device it does work. I am wondering if anyone has a solution to help me out thanks ahead of time. I have contacted technical support but they said they can't help me and i've been posting this up in many forums hoping for some help.

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!

First of all, we do need more information from you about your system.

PSU? CPU? Motherboard? OS? RAM? etc.

In the meantime, it sounds like a possible low voltage problem. That is, the card isn't getting enough power to handle both video outlets at the same time. This could indicate that your PSU is going bad. OR, that it's just too weak to provide the power needed.

At any rate, give us the rundown on your system.

Good luck!

400w doesnt mean a thing

what brand & more importantly, what specs are listed on the amps (particularly the 12v rail)

"Whenever i click to enable it the tv just flickers then it just goes back to off.
However, when i click to add the tv as my primary device it does work."

though that part makes drivers a possibility... what ones do you use? & have you changed them recently

Thermal take 400w 12v power supply. I use the latest display drivers from ati. I havn't changed them recently but this began when i overclocked my computer to play crysis. It was working fine till he turned off. I had to reset my bios to regular then everything worked normally except for secondary monitor support.

This information still doesn't give us the AMP rating on the +12V rail/s.

However, if the problem only started recently, you should try removing the video card (both Primary and Secondary devices) from Device Manager. Reboot, let Windows redetect your card and then update the drivers again.

Good luck!
