Please Help...
I'm having problems with ATI Radeon x700 PRO Video card running on xp media center edition.
I have read on the Internet that there are third party drivers that might help but i cant seem to find a driver that states it is for the X700PRO, also i have seen a lot of stuff regarding catalyst control center but it too seems to be version specific (i have version 2007.0517.2140.36881) some of the event log errors i have been getting are ati2mtag CRT CRT invalid display type ati2mtag DVD_OV invalid parameters ati2mtag DVD_OV Bandwidth limitation. Overlay allocation failed Any help would be greatly appreciated |

ok lets recap, you say you are having problems getting it to run, yet are getting driver errors. which set have you currently installed? Can you also state the installation procedure you used for installing the set you currently have installed? is the system a prebuilt with drivers already installed? can you attach a dxdiag log file in here?

Welcome to DriverHeaven!
Is this a Desktop or Laptop? Is the X700 a mobility card? Some system specs would be very helpful. |

Hello! I tried DH Mobility Modder and I had no luck. I need a new laptop, that's the main problem. Haha. I have a Dell Inspiron 8100 with a Mobility Radeon 7500. I am a poor college student, so getting a new, compact laptop with decent 3D hasn't been an easy task with a budget of $500. Anyhow, I got the latest ATI Catalyst driver, MODed it with the tool, and then installed it. Everything seemed to be okay, until I tried to play a game requiring DirectX (Command & Conquer Generals). It said to make sure I have the latest OEM driver and that I have DirectX 8.1 installed which I do. I went to DxDiag and Direct3D was completely disabled! The only functionality that was enabled was DirectDraw! This seemed too good to be true (updated drivers for my old video card) and apparently it was. It seemed to work, but it stripped my card of all 3D features! Lol. Anyhow, if anyone has any idea, then please let me know! Thanks!

I think you'll find you need to revert to the older drivers in order to get DirectX working again. Check the ATI/AMD website and look for 'legacy' drivers. Good luck! |

Yes, but though I can't seem to update to the latest DNA Drivers, the 2005 ones that I have work pretty damn well!
