mobility radeon 9000 wont play movies in tvout
everything else about the tvout works fine. it plays on the internal screen, just not on the output tvout screen. just a solid box where the movie should be.
this includes all types. quicktime, realmedia, divx, mpg. is there anyway to fix this? |

Can you post your system specs, and the drivers you are using?

This is a "feature" that is used on the ATi DVD player, and several other softwares for playing DVDs.
This feature disables your TV out whenever a DVD is playing. To help prevent people ripping DVDs to VHS, or other formats through the TV out... there is a hack someplace that disables this "feature" but I do not remember where I found it last time. Do a search on Google.com, should yield some results. |

Did you or did you not install the ATI Control panel?

ok, try reinstalling the latest control panel if the version differ.
Also make sure that you make the TV your primary monitor. Most vid's will only play on your primary monitor. GL Patje

This is possibly another one of those overlay issues.
Go into the ATI driver settings and select the overlay tab, if available select the 'theater mode' box. Then play the video, should work fine. Should also work by making TV as the primary monitor as Patje suggested.
