Help whit driver Radeon 8500

I had downloaded the drivers for Ati Radeon 8500 form official web, but this drivers doesnt work, so i downloaded Omega Driver 3.8.. and it works better than the official web, but i cant play Counter Strike in OpenGL or D3D mode, just in software mode. Pleas tellme what driver i should download.

If I still had my ol' 8500 maybe I could be of better help. BUT, I passed that one off a LONG time ago. So, keep in mind this:

1. The card is a pre-DirectX 9 card and, therefore, no longer supported officially by ATi. You can only get Legacy drivers for it. Even a selection of Omegadrivers will have to be compatible with the pre-DX9 cards.

2. For OpenGL, there was a specific OpenGL .dll file that seemed to work better than all the rest. But, if you're having problems with D3D games as well, that makes me think you're having some system drivers problems. Make sure you get compatible drivers for the 8500 installed AND make sure you have DirectX 8 installed and working properly.

My advice would be: Once you do get your system working, forget about ever trying to update the 8500 again. You'll likely just create more problems.

Try the Catalyst 6.11's OR 6.5's..... all versions previous of the 6.5's should work with your 8500.

I'll confirm 6.2 works just because I popped in an 8500 I had laying around and tried that version.
