7.12 = CCC won't launch/not in SysTray!
UPDATE: Fixed. (installed 7.12 DD on single card, rebooted. Installed 7.12 CCC on single card, rebooted. Physically installed 2nd card, booted up. Catalyst opened but no CF tab. Installed 7.12 WDM, rebooted... CF option is there, no more red text either!) ,
********************* I've already made a post about this on the AMD Game forums, but there isn't a big enough userbase there to get a straight answer... So I figured I'd try and get some help from the driver pros. Disclaimer: I've had a very similar problem to this one before, but it was related to Catalyst 7.2 and CLI.exe/MOM.exe. This time 'round, there are none of these errors however. The 7.2 errors were mostly caused because of bad .net 2.0 installs, but I have .net 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 and they work with all other recent versions of Catalyst (7.10, 7.11, Crysis Hotfix 7.11). Here is the detailed version: For me CCC won't even open; either by right clicking & selecting Catalyst or by the application "CCC" in the Start menu. Also, one thing I've noticed is that the "Welcome" text on the XP login screen has a red shadow as opposed to a darker shade of blue. I saw somebody else mention this too. Catalyst versions 7.10, 'Crysis Hotfix' and 7.11 all 'worked' for me (regardless of their shimmering/artefacting in certain games, at least they LOADED)... I've done clean installs, installs ontop of previous working versions (eg. good, working 7.10 install >7.12, etc.) and no result... I really wanted to try this version as it is supposed to support 2900 CrossFire Overdrive, which would be really nice. Any ideas? Someone mentionned trying an 'oldskool' Win 98-esque driver install by cleaning it out, reinstalling display driver in Safe Mode, then rebooting into normal XP and installing CCC there... Tried it, but the DD doesn't recognize my hardware in Safe. ********************** Last edited by Warren21; Jan 4, 2008 at 08:01 AM. |

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!
So, from the Update you posted, this is no longer a problem, correct? If so, glad to know it's all settled up. Game on! |
