Can't get cards working!

Okay so I did a fresh install of Windows XP then installed drivers+software for my PCI-E Palit 2600XT Sonic. Works just fine. I believe the software is 7.12.

I then turned off computer and put in my PCI Radeon 9250 256mb and booted up. It installed default and said I would need to restart. Upon bootup, it doesn't appear to even get to the windows loading... just hangs.

So I booted to last known configuration and before rebooting I went to device manager, updated driver, and selected the drivers in a folder extracted from downloaded off ati's website (I think it was in a 6.11 inclusion). It accepted and installed the drivers. This time restarts... gets past windows loading, but then it QUICKLY shows a blue screen with some text and reboots... every time.

I can't get it working! ANY IDEAS!? This is SO frustrating!

Welcome to DriverHeaven!

Take out the PCI card again and see if it works now. If it does, leave the PCI card out and be done with it.

I had to read that 4 times lol
You have a pci-e card and want to incorporate the pci card as well?
Are you thinking this would make it an sli setup?
I`m with Dyre, leave it out.

That is not possible with PCI-E and normal PCI card. And you mean CrossFire?

Yeah I'm with Dyre in that you should leave the PCI card out.

Yes, 6.5 and then 6.11. Since then, no more support for DX8 cards or older.
