Problem with TV Out: Radeon x1950pro AGP

Hi all,

System setup:
Visiontek Radeon x1950 pro AGP 256MB (New Install)
AMD XP-M 2500+ Barton @ 2400MHz
Asus A7N-8X-E Deluxe Mainboard
350 Watt Power Supply
Western Digital 500GB SATA HD (AAKS)
Western Digital 250GB SATA HD
Skystar 2 PCI DVB Satellite Card
1 GB Corsair Value Select DDR

Here's my problem.

I'm trying to get my x1950 to play nice... initially when I installed the card, I used driver cleaner, got rid of all the old drivers, removed the old card from hardware manager.
The x1950 installed fine, I used the latest Omega drivers, and things were working OK. Ran Bioshock/HL2 just fine. The card has muscles.

Unfortunately I could not find a way to extend my windows desktop on to my TV, which I hooked up with an s-video cable. Rebooting the computer with the s-video connector only, a picture appeared, verifying that there was nothing physically wrong with the card. I tried every setting in the Omega Drivers control panel and nothing worked.

Next I uninstalled the Omega Drivers, and installed latest Catalyst (7.12) and CCC. From the CCC I was able to get the TV out to function properly, BUT now every 3d application I tried to launch crashed to desktop immediately!

SO it seems: Omega Drivers : Games, but no TV
Catalyst: No games : TV

Ideally I'd like to get my tv working with the Omega drivers.

I have a suspicion about my power supply, could it be as simple as upgrading it?

please advise,
msim

System Specs

350w generic psu??

my 420 generic started shutting off my oldest maxtor drive, & 10mhz OC of the gfx = freeze (during load only)

my cpu stayed oc'ed though... which..... you appear to be doing what i'm doing.. hm doesnt seem to be power

something up with att/omega & recognizing tv

latest catalyst of course will fail on agp in 3d/d3d (the 2 games you mentioned were d3d, not opengl)

try 7.5 was it? CCC

should i try s-video out + omega 7.12 into a video cam (tried it ages ago) to see if i can recreate the no tv signal?

EDIT: right so, that looks like an ADD post hah

try going back to stock cpu speed
try borrowing a decent psu
try older cats

Update

Latest omega drivers running fine.
Got the tv working, but only in clone mode.

I want to extend my windows desktop on to the TV like I used to...
That doesn't seem to work at all!
