Problem with HD 3850 (Catalyst 7.12 and up) - Colors

Hey,

I bought a Radeon HD 3850 and used it first with the Catalyst 7.10. After upgrading to 7.12, many colors (e.g. at google, the highlightet search results are red insted of blue) and the shadows of the text in e.g. the window titles is orange. In 7.11 this problem is not existing, in 8.1 it is.

What can I do??

Hi there and Welcome to DiverHeaven!

Did you just install the new drivers over the old ones or did you uninstalled the old first??

I uninstalled them, and even reinstalled windows.

EDIT: This is the same problem, I think, and it's disturbing: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/windows-...ml#post1118421

After viewing your posted screenshots in the Official 8.1 drivers thread, I see no color problem at all. Here's my response post...

Hey all,

I had the same problem.

Solution: Turn on ClearType.

:: Right-click on desktop > Properties > Appearance > Effects

Change "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" to ClearType.

Worked for me. No need to reboot.

Hopefully this bug will be fixed as soon as possible. Personally I can't stand ClearType or disabling standard font smoothing.
