Why no fix for Sapphire HD 2600 PRO 512 AGP

I cant install the new drivers for my card I read i can edit the file but should i really have to ? Why after the "hotfix" a newer driver is released and it still wont recognize my card ?
I had high hopes for 8.2 after the AGP hotfix what the hell happend ATI ? this is getting beyond a joke .....sorry guys i do realize this is not the official way to vent ...but i am so frustrated as i am sure many HD 2600 pro AGP users are

I just dont understand that after a hotfix the new drivers still wont recognize my card and install ...hell i dont even expect them to work perfectly but i do at the least .....the very least expect them to install.

Have you tried the walkthrough i posted below? Maybe it will help you. Unfortunatly, for me, i still have the same bug (loss of signal when running a game).
