3850 weird frame rate drop
Hey guys, i have a weird issue. when i play CS:S and i have it windowed, it runs smooth, like 42-45 FPS. when i hover my tooltip (mouse) above the time or something and it shows me the date, or if i hover it above the ATI icon and it shows me my desktop resolution, my FPS drops to 1. it's rEALLY weird. i tried in cs 1.6 and it's fine. any thoughts?

normal, i get that when windowed too
the older AIM (messenger) makes opengl freeze up when the alerts appears quicktime (alternative, in mediaplayerclassic) freezes when tooltips/menus animate msn's alerts freeze fullscreen games when the alert slides back out of view cs1.6 has 3 different modes - direct3d/opengl/software, & if you switch to... probably direct3d as that's source's default, you should get the same slowdown |

If you dont want that issue then turn off AA or install Vista which doesnt have that problem. The issue is a XP OS bug and wont be fixed by MS.
