Nachbrenner will become famous soon enough
System Specs

In "Hellgate London Demo" outdoor levels are rendered now (the clipping bugs are not Catalyst related).
Still missing textures in start menu.

I couldnt get this to load did not recognise my card Sapphire HD2600 AGP
I tried deleting the old driver then running driver cleaner in safe mode still no luck went back to Hotfix 8.3 and that installed perfectly anyone know what the problem could be I am right in thinking this new Hotfix is for AGP cards or ?

Tack ! Thanks yeah i guessed afterwards that it must not have been for agp cards I still wonder why AGP is not written into the normal drivers seems wierd we still have to use a Hotfix for agp cards

It's because the 2400/2600 AGP cards are not by ATI design, but whipped up by individual card manufacturers using a PCIe to AGP bridge chip on their cards to create a side product for the last of the AGP market. Those card manufacturers are providing their own 2400/2600 AGP specific drivers. Sapphire even has a 3850 AGP but have so far not put out a downloadable driver for it. Such products should not be sold without a warning.

I totally agree I dont know how they can get away with this while using the ATI Radeon name.
I now understand so it seems really ATI do not actually recognise the AGP cards and its up to the 3rd party makers such as Sapphire to mod the latest drivers to make them work with said AGP product.
Well if i had known this i would have gone for Nvidia still i am thankful ATI do put out a hotfix that will actually allow me to install the latest drivers.
Thanks for explanation seems all the time i have been blaming ATI when really they dont even have to support these AGP cards ..... however why the makers such as Sapphire can use there name i dont know i feel decieved but saying that i should have done better research ...but when you see the ATI name on the box you would hope it would be supported

Probably down to having adaptive antialaising enabled, not every game supports that feature.

So, is this a hotfix that would cure the 50% loss of overall performance I had with my HD3870X2 and 8.3 compared to 8.2?

I might as well wait for 8.4 and use 8.2 until then.
