Win2k3 driver support

Anyone know if the Catalyst drivers work on Windows Server 2003? Can't find any info about this OS on the ATI site...

The Catalyst drivers works perfect. Just remember to turn up the hardware accleration slider to the max before installation.

Thanks for the quick answer! I can replace XP Home (*shudder*) with something slightly more useful now.

In fact, if I can be bothered to spend a few hours reinstalling, I might do a comparative performance test between 2003 and XP - not sure if there are any stats on this out there already?

Don't know if it exists any performance tests between XP and 2003 since they are two completly different OS's - workstation and server.
I'm looking forward to read what you have to say in the performance test..

Well, I fought the good fight with the setup disks and did the comparative test that I mentioned.

Tests run were 3DMark03 (1024/32bpp) and 3DMark2001 SE (stock settings).

Machine spec: Dell 8300 with 3GHZ P4 800MHZ FSB, 512, 120GB 7200 drive, 9800 Pro 128MB. The Radeon was not tweaked at all, and was running Cat 2.4 under both OSes.

The Windows Server 2003 installation was clean, all acceleration maxed out, DX9.0a installed etc. XP Pro was also a clean install with all updates applied.

W2K3: 3DMark03 = 5605, 3DMark2001 SE = 17287
XP: 3DMark03 = 5816, 3DMark2001 SE = 17048

Now, I'll leave the interpretation to those who know more about these things, but in either case those numbers are looking pretty hot for an "out-of-the-box" system!

Sweet jesus you've got yourself a very decent system there.

Any reason why you used Cat 2.4?

I guess it's a typo - he probably mean 3.4.
