Weird problem with Catalyst 3.4

hey,

I uninstalled old drivers and used driver cleaner. I installed the new catalyst 3.4 and everything seemed fine until I rebooted. I got some error messages saying that certain folders could not be written too and data was lost (at the login screen). The computer slowing boots up but everything is messed up and unusable. If I uninstall the drivers everything is fine. Install them again and everything is screwed up again (even with Omega's). I have a Mobility Radeon 7500.

I am pretty sure the problem is a result of a service I have disabled in Windows XP (through services.msc) but I don't know which one. There are some errors in the event viewer about paging operations that were uncesseful (but I do have a paging file).

Any body have any ideas?

PS. After an uninstallation of the 3.4's I have to reinstall the IDE channel dirvers to get DMA tansfer mode back.

found solution on another site.

basically the largesystemcache = 1 and disablepagingexecutive = 1 tweak in the registry is bad. They cause problems with the drivers in some situations. They are beneficial only to servers and not workstations.

To fix in Registry

go to HKLM - System - CurrentControlSet - SessionManager - MemoryManagement
LargeSystemCache = 0
DisablePagingExecutive =0
