Toshiba A305 w/ ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 XP, Driver problems

I am hoping someone out there has seen this and might have a solution.
My HW:
Toshiba A305-S6839
Mobility Radeon HD 3470
Windows XP SP3

Followed the instructions using Mob Modder 1.1.0.0.
Using the most obvious driver from ATI (this may be my problem)
MSXML 6.0

Near the end of the driver loading, the laptop does a BSoD as it chokes on ati2mtag.sys.

While loading the inf file, it does offer the following options for drivers:
Mobility Radeon 3450 and 3470.
I guess my real question here is whether I am actually using the correct ATI driver. When on the ATI site, if you choose:
Windows XP, Pro, Mobility Radeon, there are no HD cards listed. Is this my problem?

Toshiba only provides Vista drivers. Is this my problam?

Hit there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

You need the normal "desktop" drivers for Windows XP.

I should have been more specific as I mentioned I used the "most obvious" drivers from the ATI site. I actually chose the one I think you indicated:
WinXP, Pro, Radeon, Radeon HD 3400 Series.

BSoD was the result.

Have you tested older drivers??
Let's say Catalyst 8.5/8.4??

Actually I was downloading 8.7 (latest- BSoD) but 8.6 worked like a champ using the CX_65775.inf file. Thanks for your help!

Jmistrot, I just have bought a Toshiba A305-S6839, and after installing the Windows XP Professional SP2, I have the following drivers issues:

- Graphics card: I've downloaded the ati_8-7_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_65993.exe and when I was installing it, a window appears with the following message: "Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit". I think that I should install the 8.6 version, so can you send me the link where I can find it?
- There are 3 "basic system devices" and 1 "PCI device" that windows can't find the proper driver.
- I can't find any sound driver and the SD/MMC card reader driver. Could you send me the links where you find it?

I see that you install the WIndows XP SP3, so my question is: which drivers issues do you have after booting the OS?

The list of drivers I already installed are: camera, ethernet controller, wireless and Intel chipset.

I really will appreciate if you can help me. Thanks.

Re: Toshiba A305 w/ ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 XP, Driver problems

Hi everyone,

I have a problem very similar to other users' problems - my
Asus m51SSeries doesn't recognize my ATI Radeon HD 3470 (vram 256mb).

I'm really annoyed by this, since I prefer xp over vista.

If I check device manager it doesn't display any graphic cards.
If I run dxdiag, under display tab everything is blank.

I've tried original ATI drivers, didn't work because my graphic card was not recognized.
I've tried omega drivers, also didn't work.

Then I tried to do everything else I found on the forum involving 3470 model that might help, still nothing.
with m.modder I did exactly what it says, installed all necesary files, extracted ATI drivers, overwrote them with modder (says everything's OK), then I ran setup.exe and got the message:

Code:
"setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration"...
I simply don't know what else to do. Please help, I'm desperate.

Re: Toshiba A305 w/ ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 XP, Driver problems

Hi guys. I also have Toshiba A300 series and also have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470, On my XP 32 I have installed drivers from Toshiba support. So far I had blue screen of death twice in one month, both times. there was ati2dvag.dll I think, indicated on the blue screen. As I am not an expert, I don't know which desktop driver or Catalist version to use, I would appreciate any help in this subject. Thanks in advance guys.
