Graphics driver and system stability.
I have to ask a quick question.
After installing the 8.7 drivers I've had quite a few BSOD's and VPU recoveries. I had no problems at all with 8.6. Can the driver cause other systems to become unstable because I've noticed that I've had to lower the OC of my CPU to make it run stable with Orthos? I'm going back to 8.6 since it worked so much better which is sad since I had some improvements in performance.. but that's useless if the system crashes all the time anyway. |

Same problem pal with a hd 3870, BSOD's 'bout the the dll file driver and reboots (i always disable VPU recovery but i'm sure it would be a problem too). i'll use the 8.6 version 'till 8.8 come out.
Somebody else?

I believe I got the same case .... I'm using a 4850 and got BSOD/VPU recovery with 8.7 / 8.7 beta. I have just switched back to 8.6 and hope it will be stable.
Actually, before I got the 4850, I have been using the onboard HD3200 chip - which was also stable with 8.6 and unstable with anything newer. P.S. Just realized this is my first post here despite I joined in 2003 :P |
