ati2evxx.exe causing display to blink

Hi!

I have the following problem: when my monitor comes back from standby, the display is rapidly blinking. The culprit is an ati2evxx.exe file, which hogs the cpu:

I have to manually close the application, then the display is normal again.

Any ideas?

I'm not entirely sure which various functions this service supports nowadays, but unless you need the hotkey function you could probably just disable it(Ati External Event Utility). I have been running without it myself.
