??? Problem with Catalyst Control Center and ATI Mobility Radeon 9000

Hello,

I have a problem using the Catalyst Control Center. But first of all: I’m using a rather old laptop (Pentium 4, 2.8 GHz, 1GB RAM) with a ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 graphics card. OS is Windows XP with SP2 and .NET Framework 2.0 is installed. The driver which is installed for the graphics card is an original ATI driver (version 8.203).

I tried to install the Catalyst Control Center. After I installed .NET Framework 2.0 the installation of CCC was possible. But when I try to start CCC the software doesn’t work. I don’t get any error message but I also don’t get a software window (respectively a GUI).
After this, when I look into the task manager I see a process called CCC.exe

Does anybody have an idea why the CCC doesn’t work correctly or how I can start the GUI of the software?

The CCC and the graphics card driver versions which I’ve installed at the moment are the same before I made a total reinstallation of my laptop. But I don’t understand why the CCC doesn’t work after this reinstallation.

The version of the CLI.exe file is 1.11. This seems to be pretty old but when I remember when I once tried to install a newer version it didn’t work. That’s why I stayed with this version because it worked fine on my laptop

Is it possible that I need an older version of the .NET Framework?

Thanks for help in advance!

Best regards,
Mark

Did the CCC come with the drivers? If not then you should use drivers that has the CCC with the package.

Hmmm... If I were you I would get older driver set. Like CAT 7.11 and use the mobility modder.net to mod them.

Re: Problem with Catalyst Control Center and ATI Mobility Radeon 9000

What version of the Radeon drivers are you using?
If i check the ATi site it comes up with latest driver version: 6.11 for the Ati Radeon 9000 series (There is no Mobility Radeon 9000 driver availible)
I had the same problem with a IGP (ATI Radeon 9100) on a Asus Pundit-R they removed some older cards in the new Cathalyst drivers.
