Display anomalies help

The following screenshot is an example of anomalies that followed installing the newest 8.8 catalyst drivers.

http://i37.tinypic.com/2nw0q2x.jpg

I am an owner of Toshiba Sattelite A100-192, with mobility radeon x1600, and the forementioned drivers are mobility modded and according to ccc, perfectly installed and working properly.

The anomalies started to happen after i installed the catalyst 8.8. Randomly would i find the start menu filled with artefacts, sometimes even the whole desktop was filled with them.
Assuming that it was their fault, i rolled back drivers to 8.7. That didnt help, so i used the drivercleaner to completely erase drivers and install the 8.7 again. Neither that helped. As if the fate didnt give me peace, again i installed 8.8, to find the occurance of the anomalies even more frequent.

I admit, im not that much of an expert of graphics, but well, im not too stuck up to ask for help when i need it

So, can anyone help me figure out whats the cause of these display anomalies?

System Specs

I would say it's the faulty GPU and not the drivers.

Try the original drivers that came with the notebook. If the problem persists, then I'd reformat and see if the issue appears again. If it does, it is most likely a GPU/VRAM issue like Partizan mentioned.

Sretno!
