Re: ATI Catalyst™ 8.10 Display Driver for Windows XP

Well, I bit the bullet from my ancient 7.something, with an X700.

As usual, it disagreed with my monitor on the reboot, and I muffed the F8 trap, but managed to force a blind shutdown with the power button (action is shutdown).

Smooth & fast - even managed to drive Runscape in hi-def resize mode, which was choppy as hell on the older drivers (using OpenGL - jogl). I did wonder about the OpenGL deficiency versus 7.11, but I gues the particular features didn't matter.

Having seen glowing reports for the 8.10 beta leak, I decided this was when to jump, as the older cards will be pretty much done and dusted.
