Extended Desktop Keeps Resetting

Basically my extended desktop screen positions keep resetting to the default position. I happen to have my external monitor (for my laptop) on the left side but the default windows orientation is for it to be on the right side. It only happens after coming back from standby (rare that it's in standby though) or rebooting. This wasn't happening before and I just recently had to install everything onto a new hdd so it's all fresh.
