Hi I have an Asus ATI Radeon EAH3650 SILENT/HTDI/512M HD 3650 Vcool Silent 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express)
using the drivers that came in the box v8.450

I visited the website and there is only 1 driver package file from January 2008 v8.452
Thats 10 months ago !

Are there any other drivers and control centre I can use ?

and will the Omega drivers be supporting this in the future ?

go to www.ati.com and download the latest drivers from there....

you can never be more current then what's available there.

Is it the Radeon HD 3600 series drivers from the ati site that will be compatible with EAH3650 ?

Also I suppose I will need the ATI HDMI Audio Device driver from Realtek.

Anyone know what is happening here ?

The asus drivers work ok but they are a year old now.

I have tried the last few versions of ATI Catalyst Display Driver for Windows XP many many times now, howevever I can not get them to work properly.

I have used driversweeper to remove all old ati files in safe mode before each install.

My card is incorrectly identified as a 3600 rather than a 3650 and the resolution of 1440x900 will not display correctly

the 3650 being identified as a 3600 series isn't incorrect.... Most cards are identified in this manner.

However your display problem is odd, you "should" be using the EDID (which is unchecked in your screenshot), which should then allow you to use the maximum resolution your monitor is capable of. Are you using a VGA cable to attach the monitor? If so, there should be a auto resize on the monitor that should properly adjust the screen to fit. You'll have to figure out which button it is on the monitor.

Hi Judas, thanks for the reply.

When I updated the original cd drivers to the last ASUS released the 1440x900 display worked just fine, without any adjustment needed, and still does with both versions of the asus drivers. So I'm quite baffled as to why the ATI release is giving this problem

I WAS using the EDID checked - it is unchecked in the screenshot because it was not working with it checked, so I was trying all the different options. However, none of them work. Not even forcing 1440x900 in the catalyst centre works ! The display setting is 1440x900 but it does not appear correctly on the screen.

I am using a vga cable and am well aware which button the auto adjust is on my monitor, however, when I press it it does not change the size of the displayed area. [just jumbles the screen about a bit and remains the same]

Any other thoughts ?

this would suggest that the EDID information on the panel is for whatever reason, not being recognized and the driver/display are conflicting or not agreeing with each other.....

This leaves very little options aside from trying to download the latest "asus" supplied driver.

This is highly annoying as while i had the same card here, i only deal with specific monitors if i can help it due to thier quality standards.... so i haven't ran into any such similare issue.

That is very strange, you would have thought that the ati driver would be more compatible than the asus driver.

Mighty odd maybe they will fix this in a later release
