Hi, I found this site when looking for a fix to my OpenGL problem. And have used 'OGLBench.exe' Only to find it goes from 31 FPS to 1 to 0.50 FPS when changing from the white circles to the rendered images?
I use Omega Drivers: rad_w2kxp_omega_38205_7z rad_w2kxp_omega_38252_7z Should I try others? And if so what? I have tried: > Reg. Fix > Clean install of lower drivers (using CCleaner as well) > Tried Some Official ATI Drivers (I think the latest) I never had problems before using openGL with this card, but that was a year or two ago now. And I would say its becuase I have changed my drivers? Also Using DirectX 9.0c would that have somthing to do with it? Please, I have spent a lot of time on this and I'm still not sure what to do. I have refered to a previous thread on this forum and not found a solution. One may have my awnser but I am unsure of what verison Omega driver was used? ![]() http://www.hardwareheaven.com/windows-...no-opengl.html Thanks, Wyatt. |

Re: Radeon 9600 = No OpenGL
What are the driver dates on those two Omegadriver versions? (I wish he hadn't changed his naming scheme so we'd be able to better compare them to the official releases. <sigh>)
Also, have you installed the latest DirectX? Using DX 9.0c is the correct one but there are recent updates. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en |

I did try and liked the NGO Optimized Drivers, too. There are several versions to choose from at that site. Have you actually checked with the Official OpenGL Website? OpenGL - The Industry Standard for High Performance Graphics |

Re: Radeon 9600 = No OpenGL
All I could find off of that website was a File OpenGL95.exe and extracted the files to windows/system which it told me too?
Going to try a system restart and see if that fixed the problem? Could it be to do with any install options with Omega, or a conflict with the windows drivers? I have the latest version of DirectX 9. Thanks, Wyatt |

Re: Radeon 9600 = No OpenGL
I have a Radeon 9600 Pro and I have no problems using the latest official drivers from Ati, version 8.10. I never got to test it with the Omega drivers though. But using the latest drivers works for me, because I used 7.8 before this and they also did not work with openGL games.

If, for some odd reason, Windows is not allowing certain file installations, you can try doing the installation from within Safemode. Also, I never bother uninstalling ATI drivers in order to do an update of drivers. Never have needed to..AND, it's not officially recommended. The only time you really need to uninstall is to do revert to earlier drivers. So, let's say you had a version of drivers that did work with OpenGL. Uninstall your current drivers, install the older drivers and check that OpenGL is working again. Then, try just updating the drivers without uninstalling. Check again. But, like I said, and the other respondent, I never had a problem with OpenGL on my AIW 9600. Try the Safemode method and let us know what's what. |

I tried reinstalling in safemode and it said i don't have directX 8... but i could reinstall off normal log on just fine and no problems? Could it have anything to do with the version of OpenGL? Any other suggestions? |

Re: Radeon 9600 = No OpenGL
Have you tried any of the Hotfix drivers?
Also, just in case it's relevant, check out this ATI KB article: AMD Customer Care Additionally, I've never had a problem installing drivers under Safemode. So, if you're having a problem, you can try forcing the installation manually via Device Manager/Update Driver...and point to the directory where the drivers are located. |
