x1600 pro no agp on smartgard

hi im new on this forum
a month ago i got a x1600 pro 512mb, installing the omega driver for caralyst 7.12. but smartgard says agp is off. when i tried to install the sis agp driver, agp is on but i cant launch any game. i know agp works without the sis agp driver on my old radeon 9800se with older drivers. the catalyst hotfix dosnt work

here my system

Mobo: Asrock k7s8x (really old i know)
Bios: v2.6
Ram: 2Gb
CPU: Athlonxp 3000+
OS: winxp pro sp2
VC: saphire radeon x1600pro 512mb
directx: 9c

in bios:
fastwrite is off (tried to turn it on, no effect)
agp aperture size is 64
agp speed is 8x
graphic adapter is set to agp

please help and sorry for my bad english

Uninstall the current graphics driver from the add and remove programs. Install any current motherboard drivers for the Asrock motherboard.

Download the current AGP Hotfix drivers from AMD/Ati here: AMD Customer Care

If the AMD/Ati Hotfix drivers do not work for your Sapphire card, go to the Sapphire site and download and install the latest drivers for that specific card.

This should get you started in the right direction.

amd catalyst 8.11 dont work
sapphire catalyst 8.11 dont work
on the sapphire site there is a bios update but not for my p/n
when i try to install the sis agp driver 1.17 my display goes crazy after reboot.

what can i do to get this agp to work???
