??? ATI Radeon and TV Out problems

Hi,

I'm having some problems with my onboard Radeon TV-Out. First, my system:
OS: Windows XP SP2
Card: Radeon X1200
CCC: 2007.0614.2139.36855
Omega: 3.8.442

I have and fairly old Sony CRT (PAL) connected to my system using a component video cable. The biggest problem is that text and general GUI in Windows flickers alot. To sort this out, I tried installing the Omega drivers hoping that would give me some possibilities in doing som flicker removal. I don't know what I did, but after installing it, and fiddeling around a bit (+ a restart), the flicker was gone.

Then, when trying to start a movie in WMP11, the computer shut down, and when back in Windows the flicker was back. Tried everything (I think), but was not able to remove it again.

The TV is recognized in CCC as Component HDTV. I'm running a 960x720 resolution at 60Hz (it seems), which I also did when the flicker was removed.

It seems strange, but when opening the Omega Display Settings, it doesnt detect anything unless i check "Force TV Detection". After that, TV Out says connected. Under TV properties I can't on the other hand edit any settings. When trying to set TV Format, and change the Flicker Removal level bar, nothing happens. It only reverts back to defaults. Is this panel only for composite/S-video out?

Another problem which I'm facing, is that I seem to lose the video signal (the screen goes black, comes back, goes black, come back again), when trying to open CCC and when starting ATI Tray Tools. This also happens when exiting a fullscreen SDL app (XBMC).

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this. I hope someone can tell me how to get the flicker-less video output back. It was like heaven in comparison. Please help.

Re: ATI Radeon and TV Out problems

Strange. I opened up CCC, and in the "screen-selector", a TV monitor was showing as well as the "HDTV"-display (which it usually don't). It usually only show the HDTV-display.

I tried switching to the TV-display, and as exptected, the output was not correct, since the TV is connected using component video. When switching back on the other hand, the flicker was gone again!?! What happens here?

I hope someone know, since the flicker will probably be back after a boot =\
