Could somebody please shed some light on what is needed

Hello,

Could somebody please help clarify soething regarding the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 HyperMemory - PCI Express x16and getting it to work under XP Pro. I am trying to assist a friend. It is a Toshiba Satellite A305 with the Radeon HD 3650 controller. I have went through these forums trying to get an answer. Was able to get the driver from the ATI website but it had the common error of incompatible device and or operating system.

So from what I understand he could possibly try the desktop drivers (not the laptop) or could try the ATI drivers for the LG R710. And if that doesn't work I guess my only choice is to modify the driver with the mobility modder. Is that correct? And if so would I use the regular driver for noteboks or the one for the desktop. Also, what about the Catalyst version number? I am trying to make this as absolute simple for the other person. All else is working, including Wifi. I think maybe the mdem and sound needs something as well but the big issue now is getting this graphics controller working.
