Catalyst 3.5

Go and grab em.

Once again a new fully certified fully supported CATALYST is here.

http://ati.com/support/driver.html

This driver has a greater focus on bug fixes, and less on performance and new features.
Please refer to the release notes for more details.

Also in this CATALYST posting, Hydravision is updated to version 3.3 with some bug fixes as well.

GASP! Hydravision has been updated~!

I found a typo:

"Setting the display resolution to 1027x768 and running the Unreal Tournament 2003 benchmark with Anti-Aliasing enabled, no longer results in the system rebooting "

1027 x 768?

Full list of information on the drivers

Mr Terry Makedons words, change list

Keeping the tradition of frequent CATALYST updates, I would like to announce the availability of CATALYST 3.5.
This posting updates the driver to version 7.90 and Hydravision to version 3.3. The focus of this posting is compatibility and stability improvements. Please get them from here http://ati.com/support/driver.html
In this driver release the 3DMark2003 shader optimizations found in previous CATALYST(tm) releases have been removed.

Some performance highlights include:

Improvements in the ATI OpenGL drivers have experienced performance gains such as:
° GL Excess performance improves 12-14% on the RADEON(tm) 9700 PRO and 9800 PRO. Modest benefits are noticed on our other graphic products as well
° Unigraphics performance (ViewPerf Ugs-03) improves 27% on the RADEON(tm) 9800 PRO, 52% on the RADEON(tm) 9700 PRO, and 79% on the RADEON(tm) 9500 PRO
° Data Explorer performance (ViewPerf DV-08) improves 9% on RADEON(tm) 9800 PRO, and the RADEON(tm)9700 PRO. The RADEON(tm) 9500 PRO improves by 14.5%

Some compatibility/stability fixes include:
° Playing the game Nascar Racing 2003 in OpenGL mode no longer results in the display going black
° Playing the game Serious Sam 2 with the display resolution set to 1024x768 32bpp no longer results in the wrong OpenGL renderer being listed when setting the graphics to OpenGL
° Enabling Pixel Shaders in the game Asheron's Call 2 no longer results in display corruption appearing as the game is played
° Playing the game Project IGI2: Covert Strike with a RADEON(tm) 9700 series card installed in the system results in the ground terrain disappearing and re-appearing as the character is moved.
° Running the ATI Tranquility screen saver found at http://www.hardwareheaven.com, on an ATI RADEON(tm) 9000 series card, no longer results in the system not responding under Windows XP

How come they wrote the filesize to be 16MB and its only a 6.6MB download? Is there more to the driver, or just a misprint?

Peace

give them a try, they work very well for me. been testing them for weeks at various stages.

just do a rollback if they dont work as you want, not much to lose man.

too bad they don't fix the Enter the matrix texture problem I have (radeon 64 mb VIVO)

but I guess they work at all my other games, so I too like 'em! (although for me, nothing's changed since 3.4, but I could care less )

i've updated from the latest omega's and my smartgart panel has gone. However the perfromance/stability of the drivers seems good. But where's my smartgart, any ideas?¿

I think this has something to do with moving from omegas set back to ATIs offical set, but im not 100% sure.

drop omegadrive an email at omegadrive@driverheaven.net im sure he is a position to give you an answer to that one.

in the meantime id try another clean install of the offical ATI set.
