Ati RADEON 9550 Best drivers choice

Hi to all.
I am new to this forum and I already have questions

.
I am using Ati RADEON 9550 card and these drivers: Radeon Omega Drivers 2.6.75a (Catalyst 5.10a).
Those were the best when I got this card, since some older were always throwing recover VPU error message.

I have this dilemma. I am using this card on hyper-thread CPU on 3.0GHz with 1.5GB RAM. For some time I noticed that flash applications on facebook, like those playfish games are running pretty much slow and can be run only on Firefox.
Also, I wanna increase some games FPS (like Mount&Blade).

Could you suggest me which drivers are the best for this card?
I am not planning to use catalyst drivers, since of their complexity.

It seems that dual core (and by implication, hyperthreading) tweaks came in with 5.12 and were tweaked up in a few after that.

If you like the Omegas, why not try the last ones made.

Thanks, Matth, I listened to your answer and I tried with oldest drivers in archive and they are working much better than one I mentioned in first post.

Can you please give me the download location of that driver you are talking about? I really have problems with drivers and maybe the card itself. My PC is constantly restarting with older drivers and with newer only aplications crashes...

i am using Radeon Omega Drivers 3.8.421 (Catalyst 7.10), they are at the top of list.
