it'n not only about this topic but i'm splitting it into parts
it began with a problem with microsoft.net and a install of ati
(momiplementation)
so ok i'll work that out
i couldn't reinstall dotnet
i solved that one partly
the installation of dot net succeeded with a couple of warnings
but the video driver wasn't ok
the screen didn't fill(two ugly black bars on the sides) up and was really blurry
and when starting a game i get ati3duag.dll error which i found with a bit of googling i was missing some xp sp2 updates
so I uninstalling several programs en removed sp3
i succesfully installed the two updates
but now i cant install the drivers anymore


i used the driver sweeper wich can't delete everything
ati2evxx.dll isn't possible to remove
also, in the registry i found some entrys of ati hotkey poller (the dll)
and atim2tag
but not in services

that's the story in a nutshell
now the details

the blocker right now is I can't install the drivers anymore
I have an asus notebook with mobility radeon x1600
I used mobility modder and adjusted the "not mobility" radeon drivers
mobility drivers are protected and not adjustable it seems
which worked great in the past
at the end of the driver installation the error says
can't find the right driver for your card or something

it began when i tried to install .net 4.0 beta
before then my games and programs worked great

it looked like it installed fine and everything but it's not much before the problems begun
I use windows server 2008 sdk which in turn turned to be a problem with xp
(please microsoft, if you recommend something on your site, test it and don't say later it causes problems )

so that's it.
