Well....let me start off by saying that all is quiet at the ATI camp. There has been nothing released since the 9030/6071 sets. I hope they have something in the works because I cannot wait to see what they will bring to us next!

Enjoy your stay here driver lovers!

What I'd like to see is improved openGL perfomance in the next driver set Lets hope they concentrate on that as well as d3d

the 6071 set for me was the fastest, but I heard alot of people having problems, I think they will also get the stability up to spec

Does ATI approve you you guys "leaking" these drivers, or does it pi$$ them off?

Well....they don't necessarily approve of it...They just don't know when or who does it!

My theory on the driver leaks is this

ATi tried to shut them down before and had mass emailing and calls and bad press for days

I know I had to really irk em when I released the 6018 set just hours after they made that announcement lol

And my information is easy to find on the net.

If ATi really cared all that much or really wanted to come after me for it they could find out who I was easy and make sure I didnt do it again lol

They havent with anyone that Ive heard of so far so I believe they are looking the other way since all of these new drivers are keeping the tweakers too busy to complain

As soon as the complaints start boom another set to tweak with

I think that it's convenient for them since:

a) No bandwith usage
b) beta testers and massive results
c) no responsability and less technical support team (no one uses the WHQL one...)
d) all the guys with the 8500 happy with new drivers
e) test new features and ideas without any trouble (if you don't like the leaked use the WHQL...)

Well at least it's just me...

I believe Doomtrooper, mentioned something about a performnce increase "up to" 50% compared with latest anandtech benches with the next driver release. He mentioned this over @ Beyond3d forums, but oddly enough never mentioned this insight over @ rage3d.

Is Doomtrooper around here?
