??? Keep o/c parameters with omega drivers & Radeon hack

Hi,
I've just installed the Omega drivers with my Radeon9700. It works fine . The only reason that i installed it is that i can now O/C my card without flashing bios. The O/C works fine but when i reboot the computer, the O/C parameters are lost. How can i do to keep the O/C parameters ?
Other question, what is the "Radeon9700 -> 9800 hack" for ? I've checked it during installation but i don't know what is the purpose of this option. Could you explain me ?

How to get the o/c to stick

I had that happen to me as well the first time I used Omegas drivers.
Try this.

Enable Clock Rate Change - checked

After you set your core and memory click on the "SET" button.

THEN you also have to hit the USE CURRENT button after that. (this is the extra step you didn't take I bet)

I use riva tuner- not driver dependent. It's been OC'ing all my cards since the dayI started OC'ing since my GF2 GTS, then with my GF4 ti4200, now with my ATI9700Pro. Works like a charm.

Thanks Pluvious, i think you're right. I didn't hit the "USE CURRENT" button . I will try that. For BWX232, i can't use Rivaturner beacause my bios (Radeon 9700 HIS) is locked. All the ATI bios are not locked but the HIS, yes. You're lucky to have an unlocked Radeon. I've already tried Radlocker (alone) et Powerstrip an it doesn't work. My screen frezze after little time. I needed to flash or use the Omega drives. Now, my Radeon 9700 is O/C to 352(core)/297(memory) . Better than a 9700 Pro (even if memory is less than a 9700Pro)

Sorry, for my poor english. I don't write very well english.

You English is awesome compared to any other language I know- Which would be zero. 352 for a NP is pretty good I think- It;s good for a pro too.

I would consider RivaTuner to be one of those "tweeker programs" that Omega dude says NOT to use with his Omegas.

Yeah, it would be if you changed any settings in it- But I don't change a thing- it doesn'y even recognize the drivers at all- It's just a low- level OC, whatever that means.

It is possible that it could mess something up, but it always works better than the radlinker thing that comes with the Omega's- which I don't even install anymore.

Rivatuner is fine, it can keep your settings for the next upcming drivers, and u can change the AGP settings without needing to restart (I use this to fastwrite settings) and no, its not possible that can mess anythin

I don't understand very well. You said that Rivatuner can O/C your Radeon9700 without flashing or Omega drivers ? I'm surprised that you can do a such thing because i've tried other tweakers like PowerStrip or RadClocker and it didn't work. I can O/C only with Omega drivers (but i've never tried Rivaturner). Someone said me that Omega works with O/C because it make low level changes modiying values into graphic card memory loaded and so, permit the O/C.

It's the hack driver you installed wih the Omega setup that is letting you over clock your card. Has nothing to do with what you decide to use to change the clock rates. As long as you have the hacked driver installed you can use powerstrip, rivatuner or radclocker. Makes know difference. Just personnel preference. Hope that clears things up for you.

OK ! I believed that he (she) said that Rivaturner was used with standad drivers and not the Omega drivers. I didn't uderstand how the O/C could work without Omega and only Rivaturner. I think that i didn't uderstand very well the meaning of the reply. Sorry and thanks for your helps.

I use rivatuner with Omega drivers- I don't install Rad-clocker w/ the Omega drivers. It works for me- You should give it a try just to see whay happens.
