What is ddc? I'm a noob

I feel stupid asking it but omega said this on his website

In Windows 2k/XP, ALWAYS disable DDC in the ATI "Displays/Monitor" CP after
How do I do that? Do I uncheck that refresh rate box?

Also, where do I disable flashwrite? I didn't see it in my bios, but perhaps I overlooked it.

Thanks.

Oops. Sorry I meant to post this in ati forums. I"m careless and stupid (isn't that great for someone trying to tweak?)

Display properties -> settings -> advanced -> displays -> attributes - uncheck check use DDC infomation.

Yeah, sorry, gave you wrong info, thought you wanted to know what it was.

By 'flashwrite' do you mean 'fastwrite'? If so there should be an option in your BIOS.

I've never seen my monitor/video card bios, only my motherboard ones. I'm pretty keen on tweaking that and I know alot about my card, just new to the driver scene. Yeah I meant fastwrite. If it does cause me probs I'd like to know where to acess it. Where do I pull up my vidcard bios?

Sorry to keep bugging you guys.

To turn off DDC simply right-click on your desktop that'll bring up the display properties - click settings -> advanced -> displays -> attributes - uncheck check use DDC infomation.

Fastwrite option should be in you motherboards BIOS.
