Mobility modder soon to be updated

Dear, Mobility users

The mod tool will soon be updated. Apparently the 3.8 is a litlle different than the previous releases.
If you experience any problems, post them here.

At the moment i don't know when it will be done but i'll keep you guys informed!

Hi,

after modding the drivers with the 'old' Tool you can install the driver out of the "Driver" Subdirectory, it works.
You also can do so with the Control Panel in the "CPanel" Dir.

I have noticed your modder as well as the modder available at Rage3D won't always enable the POWERPLAY tab when installing the drivers. I have a Radeon Mobility 7500 (DELL Inspirion 5100) and when I have used the modders for earlier CATALYST I haven't found a way to get the POWERPLAY tab to work properly.

Please make sure that we get the POWERPLAY tab working when you build the next Modder!!

Cazurela,

thanks for the info. I know about this issue, powerplay works on the m9000 but apparantly not on a m7500
It's strange, must be some setting however i don't know which one.

I'll try to get it fixed

where can i get this modder, and what does it do? (Does it make the catalyst drivers mobility compatible?)

seems thou that it doesnt work for my card (9200)... anyone know why i get like 40-50 fps in cs 1.6? 800x600, ogl, 16bit, p4 2.66GHz, radeon mobility 9200... I should have much more, right?

this has nothing to do with the modder. It just modifies ini files so that the driver can be installed on mobility cards

what about other games?
what about CS with the original driver?

Well, the modder won't fix the .infs so they work with mobility 9200 cards, I think patje is aware of this and he'll fix it for the next version.

I haven't had a chance to test with other games, but I only get 6500 3dmarks in 3dmark2001SE
CS with the original drivers we're worse, but I'm still running acer-drivers, since your modder didn't work for me!

I've tried ut2003 demo now with around 50 fps, but i get freezes for about a second from time to time, where everything just stops.
I've also tried bf1942 with the same problem. and standard settings in that game gave me bad smoothness, flying airplanes was impossible, i'd crash to the ground before even having a chance to correct it.

Both these games run really smooth on my bigbox (p4 2.4, 512MB, GF4Ti4200). That computer is still back in sweden while I'm in Norhtern Ireland, so it won't help me much, and seeing theres nothing to do in my spare time here I really need a computer. I hope I didnt spend $1200 for nothing, I can't afford that!

I must say I was really hopeful when I bought this computer, and it was mainly ment to be a gaming machine. but since games don't work I dont know what to do!!!

Please help me!
