Halo 3.8 issue

In Halo 1.02 I am playing the game and thought the res looked a little low

sure enough after the new driver install it had dropped down to 800x600

so i bumped up the res to 1024x768 and set it to vsync

at the point that the save is supposed to occur boom blue screen

VPU recovery does not kick in at all just a blue screen and reboot

whats going on here?

No problems here with the 3.8 cats. You have the latest patch for the game?

yup have the 1.02 patch installed

here is the really odd part though

it doesnt do it on my other machine at all

I can change the res that way as often as I want and it runs perfect

Other machine has a 9700Pro in it

This ones a laptop with the M9 in it

I have had no problems with Halo at all i would say lot better graphics with 3.8

but i can not get it 8x

only 4x bummer

Has anyone else noticed this bug in 3.8: When you zoom with sniper rifle and turn nightvision on, the zooming grid goes all black. When it fades, it looks fine and when no nightvis is on, it works fine. Updated 1.02 Halo and Radeon 9700.

I have this issue also. Is there anyway to fix the black nightvision? Also running Halo 1.02 and 9700Pro

If you force pixel shaders 2.0 this black screen bug happens. You'll have to use the

-use14

command in your shortcut to bypass this bug I guess..

Halo runs fine with the 3.8 , but i did noctice one bug. When you look through the scope with the sniper rifle and turn on your night vision it just goes black. I installed the 1.02 patch and it still does it. has any1 eles had this problem ?
