Call Of Duty crashing with Omega v2.4.87
Just wanted to know if anyone else is having problems. My machine froze up hard in the 6th or 7th mission in Call Of Duty.
9700 Pro using Omega v2.4.87 (Cat 3.8) in Win XP. It's very rare for my machine to freeze. |

Seems to be a problem with the Radeon line.

I still don't have the full game, but I was having problems with the demos until I installed the latest Omega 'leaked' drivers.

Stay away from the Omega latest build, and the 3.8 themselves.Try the 3.7 driver set.I had the lockup problem at the beginning, but after going to the 3.7 set, i have been fine.

its a problem with any 3.8 based driver set, further discussion on 3.8 offical ATI set in here some users are solving it by turning off VPU recover, most arent having success with it off
.as has been suggested either try omegas newest leaked based set or I would suggest revert to offical 3.7 set. hopefully ati will fix it in the next release.

Don't know if this will help or not, but I had problem with the 3.8's when I first installed - after many installs the same problems.. I ended up ditching them for the 3.7's for a few weeks..
After a while I updated my chipset (Nforce2) drivers- then I decided to go back to give 3.8's another try, to my surprise they worked flawlessly. Not one CP panel problem that I had before, not one stability issue, nothing- they work perfect. If anyone out there wants to use 3.8's (you should, they are excellent drivers and CoD looks awesome w/ them)- and you haven't reinstalled your chipset drivers yet, you should try that just to see what happens. It worked for me.
