Mod Tool 1.3 released

Ladies and Gents,

The newer version finally supports the all-in-one package.
I made a new layout, which looks a lot better now.
No new chipsets have been implemented.

current supported chipsets are:

- Mobility 9600
- Mobility Fire GL 9000
- Mobility Radeon 9000 / 9200
- Radeon Mobility
- Radeon Mobility 7500
- Radeon Mobility 7500 GL
- IGP 340M /345M
- IGP 320M

If you're having any problems with the tool, post them here, PM me or mail me

Enjoy,

Patje

Sad Also fails for me

Latest modtool fails with rutime errosrs and "bad directory" errors also, I´m on a laptop with an original Radeon Mobility.
Anyway, Patje is a great guy and I´m sure he will fix it all...
Thank you for your effort again patje...

Game Problem, Mobility Radeon 9600

First: Activating PowerPlay doesn't change that it is not activated. BUT WHAT IS EVEN MORE IMPORTATN IS THIS: If I try to start a game, it hangs up, in Warcraft III without any message, in generals zero hour I get before the message that system error has occured and then again hangs up. And the last point: I used the modder on the v3.9 All-In-One-Driver but still I was only able to install it, if I installed the Driver and the ControlPanel themselves and not together. Can you help me in this cases?

ok, i'm having a problem:
with v.1.4 of your mod tool:

i extract the drivers (full package) using the standard path, mod them successfully, but when i run the setup.exe that should install the complete package, i get an "hardware not found" error.
if i run the setup.exe from the driver-subdirectory it installs without any problems...

for system config see sig...

besides that, great work, keep it up

Ok, for those who get runtime error " path not found " or the error "directory does not contain the correct files"

can you guys check if you extractet the catalyst file to the default directory it is like this:

C:\ATI\SUPPORT\WXP-W2k....\....

Apparantly some people didn't have a support folder.

Let me know what yours says,

Thanks!

Sleeque, thanks for the feedback,

first, do you know you are downloading an older version of the catalyst file ? make sure you get version 3.8 or 3.9
Second, I don't understand it but i downloaded the file u used and extracted it and started the modder, selected the C:\ati folder and pressed start and guess what, worked like a charm.
Maybe the modtool got messed up during download. can you re-download the file to make sure it's ok.

thanks

OK ..
more feedback ..
Couldn't wait till tomorrow.

Now .. I dowloaded newest drivers from ATI's homepage .. supposed to be 3.9 (whole package)
http://www2.ati.com/drivers/wxp-w2k-...8m-011774c.exe

and

http://www2.ati.com/drivers/wxp-w2k-...8m-011774c.exe (drivers only)

This time i'm using win2k.. ang get the following error:

run-time error 'some nombers'

Automation error
The specified module could not be found.

Could an antivirus program be affecting this modding or something? ..

It really is weird.

Will try more tomorrow. Let's wait and see what happens.

Tnx again..
cheers

TRy updating the driver trough the device manager, choose update driver, specify the a location, browse to the C:\ati\support\....\driver\something
folder and choose the inf files.
That should allow you to install the driver.

Tried that .. didn't work .. only thing i haven't tried yet is to remove all the drivers, delete the hardware from HW profiles and do a "Clean install".

Will keep you informed.

OK.. Here's the latest news.

So i deleted all the drivers/control panel/graphics card.
Rebooted the machine.
Went to Hw manager and installed drivers from modded installation.

So it works.. but still needs testing for crashes.

I need an older version...

Does anybody have an older version available?

I want to to some tests on my notebook (Mobility 7500)
between the Cat 3.4's and 3.9's and see wich ones perform
better on my notebook.

The new ModTool doesn't work on Omega's 3.4's...

I d/l'd the Catalyst 3.9 and used the newest version of the MM, and I get this message when trying to install.

"Setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration. Please make sure you have the required hardware or software."

Any ideas/solutions?

Yes,

I think you are trying to run the setup.exe from the main dir. search for a "driver" folder under C:\ati... run the setup from there.
Next version of MM will make it a litlle more clear.
