Ati 9500@PRO - Omega 2.4.96c - Black Screen

I've just done a fresh install of Win XP...
Then I installed Omega 2.4.96c with 9500 softmod (my 9500 has in line memory, so can't become a 9700 but pipelines are working, so mod @PRO has no problem...is that choice [SoftMod 9500 -> 9700] right?)

rebooted my PC but after POST, I got black screen...
I think it is it could be due to the driver...

could it be because I didn't install Direct X 9.0 before installing the drivers?
Or maybe because I've chosen that MOD [9500->9700] when installing the driver even if my 9500 only get modded @PRO?

i would suggest lowering your refresh rate if possible. you may be trying to set it to high, so your monitor is powering off.
