Unoffical Catalyst OpenGL Patcher **UPDATED**

Unoffical Catalyst OpenGL Patchers

I made these files to try to help all of you having OpenGL issues. This patches your current OpenGL with the other (specified) version. Which usually can fix a lot of the issues people are having. It also backs up the original file so that you can go back to the originals should you want or need to.

Download removed *

NOTE: These are unofficial fixes. This not in any way supported by Ati. Also, be sure to do the restore your backup before trying another version. If you don't the back up of the original will be lost.

EDIT:

removed the batch files to many issues... just remade and included the needed files and instructions...
you just have to drag and dop the desired file to the required folder.

Download
XP/W2K

98/ME

Thanks,
The_Neon_cowboy

Noooooooooooooo! I still using the Omega's based on Cat 3.9s and don't fancy uninstalling them just to use the pre-release 3.10s. I'd very much like the patcher just to fix OpenGL so I can use IL2 without flashy bits again .

If there is some way I can extract the files from the 3.9 Hotfix myself (which I have already downloaded) then I'm happy to do that, I just don't know how.

Cheers.

EDIT: Relax, I read a bit more and figured it out . No really, stop panicing I'm ok! Still I have to wonder why atioglxx.dll for the 3.9s (Omega) is 4488kb and for the 3.10s (3.9 hotfix) it's 2234kb ?!?

EDIT 2: START PANICKING AGAIN!!! That didn't work so well. I get ~1fps in GLExcess now, give or take. Clearly it's not as simple as I thought/had read. Any advice appreciated. I did backup the 3.9 OGL dll, so all is not lost but I really want to lose the flashing triangles in IL2.

Cheers 2.

Doesn't Work

NC, the top link (3.9 OpenGL Patcher TO 3.9 Hotfix Ver 2 ) is borked. Well the link is ok, but the rar isn't. The header is corrupt and won't extract with WinAce. WinRar extracts the files, but still complains the header is corrupt. I downloaded twice, once with and once without a downloader.

edit: Forgot to mention... thanks for putting the files back up. Much appreciated!

Omegas too?

Hey there,
Will this patching system work if I'm using Omega 3.9? I've just installed the newest ones from Omega and am wondering if I can just use the Patcher 3.9 to 3.7 (the popular one) to help with the freezing problems in COD. Thanks.

Neon_Cowboy, How do I Use the Patcher?

Neon_Cowboy,
I have downloaded yout patcher (3.9openglpatcher3.9.spd2.xp.rar) and have extracted the files using WinRAR. Now what do I do? Do I run the batch file? Can I simply copy the included atioglxx.dll over the old version?
Cheers,
Graham

Patcher Operation

Delighted to report patcher successful. Seems reviews of the new atioglxx.dll are rather mixed. I'll give it a whirl.
Thanks

I'm going to edit and add the file sizes. For those who downloaded it before this point don't worry but your file size will varry slightly becouse I have added a text link in the readme to this post. I'm adding the file sizes so you can make sure everything is ok.

Heres the fixed bat for windows 2000. This is for people, like me, who used the defualt install directory for windows 2000 (WINNT).

EDIT:no need for this file anymore.

Are you on windows 2000? It wont work with XP becasue 2k and XP use differnt default install directories. 2K=WINNT XP=windows.
