9600 pro maj prob!

I bought a 9600 pro alittle over a month ago and i seem to be having some major problems with it. Ive got everything updated (dx9.0b, mobo, sound card, chipset, omegas, etc). Ive tried using different cat versions as well as the omegas. I noticed the warning reguarding about leaving the fast write on if you have a 9600 but the smartgart prog wont allow it to stay on after i restart as instructed and was wondering if any1 knows a way to force the fast write to stay on. Everytime i start any game(UT, Unreal II, Duke Nukem)....any game it runs great for about 5 mins then just locks up to a blank blue screen! Ive been reading many of the various posts on this site and have tried about everything that posted but so far nothing about if fast write wont stay on and if some1 knows i would greatly appriciate it.

Are you sure you've checked fast writes state in the bios? Anyway you can try Powerstrip to force it on..

you need to enable it in your bios, smartgart is just reporting what it sees, you cant change settings there.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ATI Technologies\CDS\0000\0\PCI Config]
"Fast Write"="Yes (0x00000001)"

in a registry .reg file? (i'm running XP)
