I agree they work well, and it completely fixed the crashing for me too. I am just wondering what this patch does. With these 3.10, all shadows are messed in Doom3 alpha compared to the 3.9. They give constant flickering and the shadows dont work correctly. No biggie, just curious about what causee the crashes in COD, and if it is shadowrelated or anything.

I really hope that's not true as the game keeps "crashing my monitor" with this "hotfix".

I first thought my system was f'cked up or overheating so tuned down and did a clean install (format c and that didn't bring any relief. I use a Sony F520 but not plug and play, I use a VGA->5BNC kabel.

Long story short, it's only CoD that's giving me problems so I think it 's a "small" bug in the driver.

So I assume you use this inf file for your monitor yes?, did you check out the monitor properties in the ati display options? is "use DDC information" checked? (vinkje).

I use the one that's standard in XP, if CoD still doesn't work on Wednesday-evening then I'm open for any suggestion you can throw at me but for now I'm sticking to the driver-bug explanation.

In W2K or XP, one should not use the default monitor, or you will get these "bugs".

Just a fyi, I never had any problems if I didn't. I just did it because it looked nicer.

The blank monitor might be the result of incorrect driver installation. I have the 3.9+Hotfix installed right now and I'm not experiencing those problems on neither of my monitors. One of them is an older model--Likom K9054 19" CRT that was manufactred in 2001. The other is a 2003 NEC MultiSync 19".

Before I install any driver, I restore my system with an image that does not contain any videocard drivers. Perhaps that is the reason why I seem to avoid driver problems. You might want to give this method a shot. If something ever goes wrong, you will be saving a lot of time by not having to reformat.

The CAT 4.1's are out waiting a bit and Omega should have a new set out based on them.

The hot fix was meant for people using 3.9...

Also another temporary fix was to use the OpenGL file from 3.7 or what I’m thinking
That maybe you should try the 4.1’s OpenGL file but I’m not sure how that would affect omegas tweaks. You can get it over here 4.1WHQL.XP.W2K.rar (might have to right click and use "save as")
