Monitor Driver Update - Access Denied

Currently running the 2.4.96c drivers with a BBA 9600Pro on a Dell 1800FP LCD
Here is the question:

I am unable to update my 1800FP LCD drivers (signed). I get an access denied error.
I am the only user/account on the machine and of course I have all Administrator priveleges
Anyone shed some light???

just a long-shot. do you have all critical updates installed?, particularly this one:

catalog database corruption

nope..not installed...but I needed a complete format/reinstall anyway...that took care of it...thx
